Linux-hostetd coross-compilation and CodeLite

Hello CodeLite community!
I'm beginner in Linux and cross-compilation. My Project has written with wxWidgets framework (under Windows). But I want make win-32 release without winXp copy. I read few articles about cross-compilation and I have few questions.
1. How I can configure CodeLite for cross-compilation like this?
2. I read about I’m cross!. How I can use it with CodeLite?
If somebody have some experience in corss-compilation, I will really happy read article in “for dummies” style about CodeLite installation and it configuration for cross-compilation under Linux
P.S. I don’t have any experience with Linux. I’m installing Ubuntu 8.10 in default configuration. I used WinXp, but really want use free soft.
