Remote idea

Just a remote idea, maybe mostly rhetorical. Do you find interesting the idea of 'literate programming', done in a 'modern' way?
I find it almost symptomatic that there is no dual-word-AND-code-editor, i mean a rich, formatting (bold, italic, images etc.) AND syntax highlighting editor component, at the same time, so that you can have some kind of rich-text comments and code in the same 'page'. Doxygen goes close to this, by supporting a number of HTML tags (after all it can generate HTML).
I am not requesting, merely inquiring, would you find interesting to have an editor window in which the doxygen comments (or a new type) are WYSIWYG, in same view with syntax colored code?
Cheers
