Thank you for your reply and time.

Yes, I did try searching for appdata, %appdata% and app data but only results are: Apple care and care, Apple?

I agree people should document their errors. Unfortunately out of laziness or embarrassment of having what may be a little error stops the IT industry collaborating and earning its true value.

I'll continue posting any information as I do with most other forums. Pity more users don't help.

Well, for now I can't fix it so I'll use CodeBlocks until some other users pitch in and help.

Thanks again and wishing you IT success.

Well, after using CodeBlocks smoothly since before 02/03/2012, I thought I'd take another quick look at CodeLite to see how much longer it takes for a user to get up and running.

Same issue still. (i.e.: Output doesn't print hello world. Just, Press any key to continue.).

I have noticed after yet another CodeLite reinstall, there is now a cryptic message:
'CodeLite could not find any search paths set for the code completion parser
This means that CodeLite will *NOT* be able to offer any code completion for non-workspace files (e.g. string.h).
To fix this, please set search paths for the parser
This can be done from the main menu: Settings > Tags Settings > Include Files

Well, if anyone cares, feel free to post how to make CodeLite work.

Who has time to work on code when app setup and paths to find things are kept cryptic for esoteric (perhaps wannabe exclusive) groups? Trust me, there's loads of room for more people to get into IT and coding to improve the world, no need to hold one single person back by lack of clear help.

My constructive criticism today is:
Keep things clear. Don't say, just go here.
E.g.: Go to Start\All Programs\CodeLite\Workspace\New Project\Categories: Console\Templates: Simple executable (g++)\Project name: your_preferred_project_name\Project path: E drive\OK.

This will allow for brains to be strained on useful coding and not administrative monotony.

Reading your post sends me a strong vibe that you don't really want an answer...

I will, however, give you an advise instead:

If you feel so frustrated by codelite, stick to code::blocks (which by itself is a great piece of software)
