CodeLite 9.1.0 detected as virus?

Downloaded the Windows 64bit version via the direct link and GitHub. Kaspersky detected as a malware. I assumed it's a false positive and I can ignore it?

Yes you can - if you don't trust my word, you can compile a copy of CodeLite yourself and don't trust others

The question is what exactly cased an alert? Is the antivirus activity around IDE avoidable in the future?

I don't know as I don't use anti-virus programs ...
