Norton Antivirus is flagging CodeLite as a VIRUS

Everytime I launch CodeLite on my Windows 8.1 laptop - it shows an alert saying that a new version is available.
I am running Norton Antivirus on my laptop and as soon as I click the "Download" button in aforesaid popup, it takes me to download page but immediately flags the page as "Potentially Dangerous". See screenshots attached below.

I have also tried to bypass the warning and downloaded latest CodeLite installer - but that installer is getting flagged as a VIRUS as well.

Please look into this issue else several Norton users will be simply ignoring this great tool.

Looks like the owners need to get the site and its contents white-listed with Norton.

Looks like Symantec has declared war on CodeLite ;)

I am not sure why...
Is it possible to see what are the 2 threats that it found?

Hi Eran,

Here is the complete screenshot.
For details - please visit https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show? ... ce=toolbar

Also I forgot to mention that - I have been observing this since past 2-3 weeks continuously. Apologies for reporting so late as I was not aware of this forum.

I suspect that they consider this a trojan because this link eventually downloads the Windows installer executable.
I might wrap the windows installers in a 7-zip files

It isn't just Norton that's flagging up codelite as a virus, so does AVG on Windows 10, although its easy to add an exception to AVG to prevent it keep flagging it up.

I added SHA-1 on the release page per download file + all the downloadable exe files are now .gz
Hopefully, this will fix some of the anti-virus softwares to flag the web site as dangerous
